Privacy Policy
poinket.com (“poinket”, “we”, “us”) makes a keychain for your cursor. This page explains what information we collect through the website, the request forms and the desktop app, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the site, make your charm and keep the app working.
- Custom charm requests. When you use the request form we receive your name, email address, your charm concept, an optional mood or style, an optional reference link and any notes you add. After a request is submitted we may also record our own notes, the status of your order and the agreed price.
- Charm suggestions. When you suggest a free charm we receive your idea, the details you write, an optional reference link and an optional name.
- Emails you send us. If you write to us at [email protected], we keep the conversation so we can reply and follow up on your order.
- Anonymous app check-ins. The poinket desktop app generates a random install ID and contacts our server to check for charm library updates. We store that ID along with the time of your first check-in, your most recent check-in and how many check-ins there have been. The install ID is not tied to your name or email address.
- Website analytics. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages are visited. It reports aggregate page views and basic device and browser information, and it does not use cookies to track you across other sites.
We do not ask for passwords or payment card details. We do not run an account system for the app or the website.
How we use it
- To read your request, talk it through with you by email, and design and deliver your custom charm.
- To send you a draft for approval, your payment link and your personal charm code.
- To review charm suggestions and decide what to add to the free library.
- To count how many people use the app and make sure the charm library keeps loading.
- To keep the website secure, fix problems and understand which parts of it are useful.
We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
Payments
Payments for custom charms are processed by our payment provider, Creem. When you pay, you give your payment details directly to them, and we never see or store your full card number. We may receive confirmation of the payment, your email address and the amount so we can match it to your order. Creem handles that information under its own privacy policy.
Who else handles your data
We use a small number of service providers to run poinket. They process data on our behalf:
- Vercel, which hosts the website and provides website analytics.
- Neon, which stores custom charm requests and charm suggestions in a database.
- Cloudflare, which serves the app downloads and charm library, and stores anonymous app check-ins. Like most hosting providers, they may process IP addresses in standard request logs.
- Creem, which processes payments for custom charms.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the people who use poinket.
How long we keep it
We keep custom charm requests and related emails for as long as we need them to deliver your charm, give support and keep records of the order. Charm suggestions are kept while we consider them. Anonymous check-in data is kept as long as it is useful for counting installs and keeping the app working. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).
Your choices
You can ask us to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it or delete it. Email [email protected] from the address you used and we will take care of it. Because the install ID in the app is random and not linked to you, we cannot tell which install is yours unless you can provide that ID.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws. We will honour them where they apply.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections and stored with reputable providers, and access to requests is limited to us. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
poinket is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information we will update this page and the date at the top. Material changes will be easy to spot here.
